The Twizel Community Board have indicated to Council that the Youth Club building in Twizel should be repaired or replaced.
The Community Board resolved in 2009 to lease the building to a third party who, under the terms of the lease, were required to maintain it. Council levy rates charges for specific uses, and therefore this project has not been provided for.
Council need to understand if the community are happy to bear the increased one off repair or replacement cost in addition to the ongoing costs. If the community are supportive, the project would be put to Councillors for approval before being included in future planning.
Before making a decision, Council would like to understand how the community would use the facility if it was repaired or replaced, and if the community are happy to incur the additional costs for repair and on-going operation and maintenance.
Taking the short survey below will help ensure Council make an informed decision on the future of the facility. The survey is open for feedback until 31 August 2021.
