Council will be trialing a self service terminal to provide information to visitors in Twizel. The concept may be repeated elsewhere in the District if the trial is successful.
The electronic kiosk will provide tourism information and link to local businesses, hospitality, accommodation and activity provider websites.
Free wi-fi will be provided to allow visitors to scan QR codes and open websites and make bookings or enquiries on their own devices.

central location,
accessibility and visibility from the main car park,
availability of power,
visibility from the kiosk of the businesses in the marketplace,
separated from the playground area,
ease of installing additional lighting, security cameras and public wi-fi.
The proposal is to locate the terminal under the pergola (the small seat will be relocated). Lighting will be improved, wi-fi installed and appropriate wayfinding signage installed to direct visitors to the location.
We're interested to hear the community's view on the location - is there a better location that we could have considered (bearing in mind we need to be able to run power and data to the site), or is there anything we need to consider with regards to the proposed site? We'll consider all feedback before we reach a final decision.
