SPMover 3 years agoI am very keen for us to develop a beautiful walking area suited to the older folk of our community and visitors.
There are heaps of tracks and walls for the physically fit and able but very limited lovely places for less fit and able people to wander in lovely surroundings. The walkway could be along the green strip between Denmark St and main Rd or similar. Must be flat, Walker and wheelchair friendly. If heavily planted out in Rhododendrons, natives (birds) and trees it will be lovely to walk through all year round. The Geraldine walkway by the stream is gorgeous and very popular - a drawcard for locals and visitors. Dogs on leads a must and bikes, children on scooters etc all great. It needs to be a winding interesting pathway, the addition of sculptures would add interest as would framed photography from local community members.

Sited on Village Green. An info panel telling the story of Jack Lovelock from Fairlie. Also more money given to Fairlie in Focus for new photos on Main St. A seat for the elderly on the sunny side of the street - area near LJHooker

Is thee some way of having it open longer or even all year round? Even for a few hours each day?
0 comment0KLover 3 years agoBeautify and improve the River track
The River track could be improved vastly! It would be nice if it was maintained more, less weeds and made more scenic so you could actually see the River as you walked or cycled. Improvements for both walkers and mountain bikers!!!
