Consultation - Policies & Bylaws Review.

Submissions are being invited on a proposed review of combined Mackenzie district-wide bylaws. Legislation requires councils to review a bylaw five years after it is made, and then every 10 years after that. More information on the statutory process can be found here.

The new proposed policy and bylaws are:

  • Solid Waste Bylaw 2021
  • Water, Supply, Wastewater and Stormwater Bylaw 2021
  • Dog Control Policy 2021 and Dog Control Bylaw 2021
  • Proposed Alcohol Restrictions in Public Places Bylaw 2021
  • Proposed Class 4 Gambling and TAB Venue Policy 2021 (preferred option) and Proposed Class 4 Gambling and TAB Venue Policy 2021 (Option 2)
  • Proposed Dangerous, Affected and Insanitary Buildings Policy 2021.

Council wants to hear your feedback on the proposals before making a final decision. The 'statement of proposal' and drafts of the proposed policies/bylaws can be found in the document section on this page.

Once you've read these documents, if you want to make a submission you can do so by completing the form below. Alternatively see the section headed 'how to make a submission'. Please note submissions are made public. You can also address councillors in person at a hearing. If you wish to do so, please tick the box on the submission form. Hearings will be held on the 14th and 15th September 2021.

Councillors will consider all submissions and may make changes to the drafts before making a final decision. You can make a submission before 5pm on 6 August 2021.
