Draft Waste Management and Minimisation Plan 2024-2030

The draft Waste Management and Minimisation Plan (WMMP) 2024-30 is now open for public consultation.

We would like to hear your views on the plan and how our district manages waste.

The WMMP is a guiding document which identifies Council’s vision for how we manage waste and minimise it. It sets out targets and methods for achieving effective and efficient outcomes.

The WMMP is required to be reviewed every six years, our current plan was adopted in 2018 and is now due for review. The draft plan looks to build on the achievements our district has made, and continue to find improvements and new opportunities to improve our waste reduction and diversion.

Further information can be found attached.

The Statement of Proposal outlines the proposed policy and our rationale for suggesting it.

Find the Statement of Proposal in the 'Documents' box on this page.

Find a link to the submission form in the feedback link at the bottom of this page.

Submissions can also be emailed to info@mackenzie.govt.nz. Please remember to include your name and contact details.

Consultation period:

Mon 11 March to Fri 12 April
