Consultation has concluded

CONSULTATION IS NOW CLOSED

The Mackenzie District Council (Council) is proposing a new bylaw to address parking issues in certain parts of the Mackenzie district.

The issues and problems identified include:

  • The need to ensure that parking is available in areas of high demand and is turned over with sufficient frequency to meet that demand;
  • Appropriately managing certain types of vehicles within townships, for example heavy motor vehicles, caravans and motor homes and other commercial vehicles (including buses);
  • Ensuring there are loading zone areas available for commercial use;
  • Limiting and controlling the use of public roads for the storage of both vehicles and other items, and dealing with abandoned vehicles; and
  • Overall, ensuring the road network in the district is managed efficiently and remains safe for all road users.

The draft bylaw is available from the panel to the right of this page.
