District Plan Review Stage Three

Stage 3 of the Mackenzie District Plan Review was notified on 4 November 2023, being the following proposed plan changes:

Plan Change 23 – General Rural Zone, Natural Features and Landscapes, Natural Character
Plan Change 24 – Sites and Areas of Significance to Māori
Plan Change 25 – Rural Lifestyle Zones
Plan Change 26 – Renewable Electricity Generation and Infrastructure
Plan Change 27 – Earthworks, Subdivision, Public Access and Transport

The rules in these plan changes do not have legal effect until decisions are made on submissions except for those noted below.

Rules with immediate legal effect

All rules in Plan Change 24 – Sites and Areas of Significance to Māori and some rules in the subdivision chapter of Plan Change 27 – Subdivision, Earthworks, Transport and Public Access have immediate legal effect upon notification.

These rules are identified with a red ‘gavel’ icon and are highlighted with a red background in the EPlan.
